The importance of getting your boiler serviced!

After receiving a call from a customer reporting that their boiler was not working, we attended and noticed that the boiler had been slightly unwell.

Needless to say we made the boiler safe and a new boiler was installed to which we now service annually!

Why do I need a service?

Boilers work very hard everyday to provide us with heating and hot water.

Its just one of many appliances usually found inside your home we all have fridges, freezers, washing machines, but boilers are different, they burn gas at around 500 degrees Celsius to heat water to 65-75 degrees everyday. It uses gas, water and electricity in one place and the appliance is used everyday without complaining, but the matter of fact is like all machines they will succumb to wear and tear, rubber seals perish, metals flex and fatigue, pipes get blocked and also start leaking without provocation.

Unfortunately boilers are very much over looked in a home and many assume that the boiler is working OK, therefore it does not need looking at.

This of course is very wrong and could not be further from the truth, many boilers do not seem dangerous from the outside, but under inspection and when tested often the gases being produced can be at highly dangerous and be producing high carbon monoxide levels.

An engineer carrying out regular annual services can identify faults which if they were not identified before can or will produce faults with the boiler or create a perfectly safe boiler into something more sinister.

Get your boiler serviced at least every 12 months and buy a carbon monoxide alarm (Fitted at high level) to give as much protection to you and your family as possible. Lets all be gas safe!
